Diversity
Central Michigan University's mission calls for the provision of
courses and experiences that will enhance--for students, faculty and
staff--a community of trust and respect for people from all
backgrounds and cultures. In this spirit, the Provost's Series on
Diversity was implemented in 1999. This series is designed to harness
the power of a diverse community of trust and respect and is based on
human and civil rights for people from all backgrounds and cultures.
Individuals and institutions have the responsibility of ensuring
these rights are truly extended to everyone regardless of their
disability, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or
other characteristics.
The new “Strategic Plan for Achieving Diversity at Central Michigan
University” can be found on the Office
for Institutional Diversity website.
